Weight-loss tale: from 90kgs to 50kgs.
From 90kilos to 50kilos... Weight-loss tale..
Having being raised in a Bengali middle class family I used to suffer from obesity and it's consequences. I remember those bitter days when I was in school studying in class 5 or 6. Every morning, my mother took me and my sister to school which was just a few kilometers from our house. So we used to go by walking. Walking! Which means exercise.. Exercise! Meant a real pain for my long deposited adipose and breathing tissues. I often got pain in muscles, felt exhausted after reaching school and above of all I used to get fully sweat-drenched.
I could feel that I was no longer a fit teenage girl.. I couldn't walk, dance or run.. I couldn't play as my all friends are doing.. I was seriously depressed.. You can understand what I felt then.. Like a lone child, I kept sitting in class while my friends used to play..
Then my music teacher emerged as a Magi for me.. She counselled me.. What have happened to me? Why I always got isolated? And what should be done?
I would be enlisting the things she had told me then so that it may help you in anyway.
1. Drinking lemonade with honey in empty stomach.
Today, I am 23yrs old still haven't forget to take sips of this warm water lemonade. It really did a good job by detoxifying the whole body.
2. Having breakfast with low- carbs and fats
Like every Bengali middle class household, they always prefer to have palateful of rice. School, college and office goers are generally fed with rice, spoonful of butter/ ghee , boiled and mashed potatoes and a green chilly. Huge carbs! Huge calories! I substituted my breakfast with a glass of milk, or sattu (indian gram flour) or two chapatis and a bowl of boiled pulses.
3. Making your tiffin full of greens and fruits
Usually I carried luchi, tarkari (Puri, veggies curry) gulabjamun or paratha, tarkari , gulabjamun: someday my mother packed my lunch with French toast and gulabjamun. Gulabjamun is my favorite! Haha.. You can see, a diet full of carbs and fats.. This delicious items got replaced by apples, guava, banana, sweet lemon, oranges, etc.. I never cried for any such fruit which is not cultivated in India.. Because I believe, nature gives you fruits asper your environment, place where you live in. I gave up eating sugar or sugary foods and drinks.
4. Dining on a bowl of whole carbs and veggies.
After the whole day, we all dinned together. That's what made our day.. My mother has nice culinary qualities, so whatever she prepared we enjoyed a lot. Egg tadka or ghugni and chapati, aloo paratha, egg curry and rice, chicken curry, etc. were our items. But unfortunately, all got replaced by Whole Wheat daliya khichdi with veggies.
This was my diet chart and it was an efficient and effective diet chart.. I am grateful for this to her..
Apart from this, I did a lot of free hand exercises, skipped rope for 5min every morning and evening.. And it was not a big deal to reach my goal. Start from today if you want to.. Just replace and substitute.. And it's so easy!!!
